To determine if your business has been exempted from the 2024 Annual
Report fee, please check the following
list of SDAT IDs compiled by MarylandSaves as approved for the fee exemption. The deadline to earn the fee exemption for the 2024 Annual Report through MarylandSaves was December 1, 2023. Please visit the
MarylandSaves homepage for more information regarding enrollment in the program and how to earn the Annual Report fee exemption for the 2025 Annual Report.
Please note that SDAT is not responsible for maintaining the list of
businesses eligible for the MDSaves fee exemption. Email MDSaves at clientservices@marylandsaves.com with questions or concerns about your status and/or eligibility.Annual Report filing requirements: Please be advised that, on advice of SDAT's Assistant Attorney General's Office, effective January 1, 2021, all legal domestic and foreign entities will be required to file all past-due Annual Reports to revive, reinstate, re-register, or re-qualify with the Department, with the exception of any Maryland Religious corporation or any foreign or domestic non-stock corporation which did not hold business personal property. Per Md. Code, Corps. & Ass'ns §3-509(b), Maryland religious and all non-stock corporations must file the lesser of all missing Form 1s, or 7 years' worth.

This website combines information previously spread across many state agencies into one, easy-to-navigate site, while also providing a clear outline of the steps involved in starting a business.
Dropbox for Charter Filings Expedited / Same-day Service $425
Dropbox for Charter Filings Expedited / Same-day Service $425 SDAT has placed a Dropbox in the lobby of 123 Market Baltimore, MD 21202, for customers seeking same-day service.
Documents and payment must be placed in a sealed envelope that clearly identifies a point of contact's name, email, and phone number, and all filings must include payment for the $425 expedited fee in addition to the base filing fee. SDAT staff will contact customers the same day of drop off if any submitted document requires correction.
Documents will be picked up at 10:00 AM Monday to Friday except for State Holidays. Acknowledgement letters, certified copies and good standing certificates for approved filings will be placed adjacent to the dropbox by 4:30 PM for customer pickup.
If these procedures are not followed or the filing is rejected, same-day service is not guaranteed.

SDAT has placed a Dropbox in the lobby of 123 Market Baltimore, MD 21202, for customers seeking to drop off documents.
Please ensure that all hand-delivered Annual Reports are placed in an envelope with applicable filing fees. Annual Reports are considered filed on the day they are delivered to the dropbox and do not require additional expediting fees.
