Vests must be worn as outerwear and be clearly visible. SDAT will provide a safety vest, safety glasses, and a hardhat for all assessor staff. Employees are encouraged to wear safety vests for all other field work.
Safety shoes or boots must also be worn by assessor staff while conducting new construction site visits to assure compliance with OSHA regulations. Safety shoes or boots must be purchased by assessor staff. Please see procedure 232-100-030 in the Maryland Assessment Procedure Manual for more information regarding the purchase and reimbursement of safety shoes/boots.
Failure to abide by this procedure will result in disciplinary action being taken.
All assessor staff must sign a confirmation indicating that they have received a safety vest, safety glasses, and hardhat from SDAT (Attachment 1).
