Smoke detectors installed in new structures or added to existing structures, whether or not such installation is required by local regulations, shall not be separately valued for assessment purposes.

Sprinkler systems installed in single family residential (non-commercial) structures shall not be included in the valuation of these properties. These systems shall be included in the valuation of commercial industrial or commercial residential properties.
