Item 2 - Applicant's Social Security Number

Item 6 - Spouse's Social Security Number

 

The Social Security numbers of the applicant and spouse listed at items 2 and 6 are to be recorded on the back of page four of the application for entry into the data system which will be utilized in a post audit income verification check by the central office with the records of the Maryland Comptroller's Office. Local tax credit employees are reminded of the importance of entering the Social Security numbers on the back of page four correctly and legibly. In addition, employees are directed to compare the Social Security number written on the tax credit application with what appears on either Form SSA-1099 sent to all persons currently receiving Social Security benefits or on the Federal income tax returns for those not receiving Social Security.
