How to File UCC Documents with the Department
Filing Fees: Filings of 8 or fewer pages cost $25 and filings of 9 or more pages cost $75.

Instructions for UCC Forms
UCC1: While the Department of Assessments and Taxation does not require use of any particular form for financing statement filings, we strongly recommend use of the standard National UCC Financing Statement Amendment (Form UCC1). These instructions are meant to supplement the line-by-line instructions on the back of that form.
Items A and B
We strongly recommend that you complete items A and B. If there is an error or other problem with the filing, it will allow us to contact you.
Item 1a
If the organization is a registered organization, you can search for the exact legal name of the organization through our
Business Entity Search.
Item 1e
This item should correspond to the prefix on the organization's Department ID number (e.g. A12345678). You may abbreviate the type of organization.

Item 1g
This item should start with the two-letter postal abbreviation for Maryland, MD, followed a space and the Department ID number (1 letter 8 digits -- e.g. MD A12345678). You can search for the Department ID number through our
Business Entity Search.
Item 6
If this item is checked, the filing should not be made with the Department. The filing should be made with the circuit court clerk for the county in which the real property is located.

If any of the boxes in Item 13 are checked, the statement should be filed with the circuit court clerk in the county in which the real property is located.
