For Real Property assessments and appeals, and to apply for Veteran's Exemptions, Blind Person's Exemptions, and Enterprise Zone Credits, please contact your local assessment office.​

The name of my business is spelled incorrectly, how can I fix it?

I want to change my principal residence address, how do I do that?

 
  • ​​If the wrong mailing address appears on your real property assessment notice or real estate tax bill, or you would like to change the address to which your tax bills, assessment notices, and other correspondences are sent, please mail a letter to the assessment office for the jurisdiction in which the property is located.

How do I bring my business into good standing?

Can I register my business online?

 

Yes, through the Maryland Business Express, you can establish tax accounts, file your business personal property returns, ​register your trade name, and order copies of previously filed documents.

Where can I find my Department ID number?

 

Perform a business entity search by name on Maryland Business Express- this will provide you with your Department ID Number and more information about your business.

Can I give you a name, and you tell me what property they own?

 

Mandated by State Law, we are unable to provide this information online.

How do I order a certificate of status?

 

You may order a certificate by contacting the Corporate Charter unit or visiting the Maryland Business Express site at https://egov.maryland.gov/BusinessExpress/EntitySearch​

Can you explain my property valuation?
